Congress Must Hold DOGE Accountable
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was a disaster. Trump and Elon Musk promised DOGE would save U.S. taxpayers trillions. Instead, it cost us all money, destroyed vital agencies, gutted regulation and exposed the personal data of nearly every American. Indeed, a former DOGE staffer is currently being investigated for allegedly stealing sensitive government data from more than 500 million living and dead Americans – with the intention of selling it to a private corporation.
The American people deserve answers and we need elected officials willing to fight to uncover the truth about DOGE.
"Not only has an ex-DOGE bro been accused of running around with the Social Security information of every American on a flash drive, he also may have the ability to edit and manipulate data at the Social Security Administration at will."
Rep. Robert Garcia (CA)
TAKE ACTION
The American people deserve answers. Demand that your Member of Congress hold DOGE accountable for its actions — from data breaches to conflicts of interest to the destruction of vital government agencies.
Tell Your Elected Official to Hold DOGE Accountable
Why Congress Must Investigate DOGE
DOGE personnel, many of whom were never subjected to a proper background check, shredded core functions of our government.
Tens of thousands of dedicated federal workers were fired. In total, over 300,000 federal employees left their roles last year.
DOGE officials and staff appear to have exposed the sensitive personal data of nearly every American in violation of the law.
"Trump's own Department of Justice admitted in court that 'DOGE' schemed with an outside political group to try and use Americans' confidential information from Social Security to overturn state election results. From stealing data to surrounding the polls with ICE agents, Trump and his MAGA allies will stop at nothing to interfere with our elections and undermine democracy."

- Rep. John B. Larson (CT)
How Congress Can Investigate &
Uncover the Truth About DOGE
1
Congressional Investigations into DOGE's Actions
Whistleblowers and journalists have produced evidence that DOGE leaders and personnel may have been involved in violations of the law, especially as it pertains to the handling of sensitive data. We need thorough Congressional investigations into DOGE's actions. There should be full accountability for any violations of the law.
2
Investigate Conflicts of Interest
Multiple DOGE officials also hold positions at major corporations, investment firms and other for-profit entities. We need transparent and thorough Congressional investigations into potential misuse of positions within government that benefited these individuals, including but not limited to awarding of contracts, interference in regulatory action, termination of regulators or potential regulators, or actions that materially benefited DOGE personnel's personal interests.
3
Review All Major Federal Contracts
Substantial federal contracts have been awarded to companies whose leadership or major investors served on DOGE leadership, serve(d) in the Trump administration, are members of the Trump family or have made significant financial contributions to Trump-controlled entities. We need a thorough Congressional review of all federal contracts worth $49,999,999 or more.
4
Investigate the Social Security Data Breach
The Trump administration has admitted that DOGE leaders and personnel mishandled the Social Security data of hundreds of millions of Americans, including both putting this data on a private cloud server and sharing Social Security data with external political allies. We need transparent and thorough Congressional investigations into this breach of the public trust.
5
Investigate NLRB Data Mishandling
Whistleblowers allege that DOGE staffers exfiltrated sensitive data from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), potentially including information related to unfair labor practice allegations and other labor law violations. We need transparent and thorough Congressional investigations into any mishandling of NLRB data.
6
Investigate AI Deployment and Contracts
DOGE rushed to embed AI programs into the federal government. We need Congressional investigations to demonstrate whether AI programs deployed in federal agencies create risks to the mission or security of the federal government, as well as investigations into the contracts awarded to AI firms for potential conflicts of interest.
DOGE: THE FACTS
According to a whistleblower complaint filed by the former Social Security Administration’s Chief Data Officer Charles Borges, DOGE staff stole the data of every American and uploaded it to a vulnerable cloud server. This puts the personal information of hundreds of millions of Americans at risk of being stolen, hacked, or leaked.
Boston University epidemiologist Brooke Nichols estimates that DOGE’s dismantling of USAID resulted in 781,343 deaths over the course of the year following the dismantling of USAID.

This figures includes the deaths of more than 500,000 children.
As head of the DOGE, Elon Musk had significant conflicts of interest, including over $15 billion in government contracts and control of businesses regulated by federal agencies, such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Under DOGE, ninety percent of CFPB staff were cut.
